Hello Everyone,
Firstly, Happy New Year to you all. I never know if that is the right thing to say with the current situation, we find ourselves in. But, as always at Hunters Meet, we remain ever the optimists. Times are hard but we want you to know that as much as you support us, we can support you.
I hope everyone is staying safe. For those home schooling I feel your struggle. Anyone who is missing family & friends we are right there with you. Remember, none of us are alone, we are all in this together and we will all get through this. Hunters Meet would like to help anyway we can.
As soon as we reopen, we are going to help you fill your diary’s with fun days and nights for everyone. From children activity days like we did for Halloween & Christmas, Acoustic Nights with the amazing Deanne, Fanny Galore Brunches and D Day Afternoon Cabarets.
We would love you to get involved. So, we want to hear your ideas. What would you like to see at Hunters Meet? Any ideas we use will be gifted with a prize! So why not send your suggestions over to us?!
We can not wait to get that Hunters buzz back and we have everything crossed that it won’t be long.
Staff
Over the next couple of weeks some of us will be doing some online training for our new & updated hotel computer system. For a lot of us, would you believe, this is very exciting. It’s going to be faster, clearer and more efficient which is really going to help us and the business. However, we do have homework (groan) before the training, but I’m sure it will all be worth it.
Takeaways
We are lucky enough to still be able to offer our takeaway delivery & collection services. One less thing to worry about, right?
Monday – Friday we have chefs in 8-11am & 2-8pm, Saturdays 2-8pm
& Sundays 12-3pm.
Please see our menus below. These do change regularly and are updated on our Facebook, so like our page to get regular menu updates, but I have put a menu below for a rough idea of what to expect.
It is so easy!

Weddings
This has been a tough time for us all, especially all those brides & grooms who have had to alter, cancel, or postpone their weddings. We are so sorry you have had to do this but as soon as we can we promise to make your day with us the best day ever.
To anyone newly engaged or looking to book your wedding, we are always here to answer questions and take requests to host your big day as soon as we can.
If you are interested in having a wedding at Hunters Meet, we can show you around the beautiful grounds with a socially distanced viewing. Just give us a call to book on 01279 730 549.
We were lucky enough to hold one wedding before lockdown. It was Christmas Eve and the bride and groom, determined to seal the deal, came on their own with Hunters Staff as witnesses to say their vows & Brendan was extremely proud to walk the bride down the aisle. The big day will follow next year but it was so magical and special and once again we would like to congratulate Leila & Stuart.
As some of you may or may not know, we have our weddings in our secret garden. Recently, we have had our outdoor pod licensed for sundown small weddings.
So, now couples can get married overlooking the beautiful sunset over the picturesque Heath.
NHS Medical Training
As you know we have had to close our restaurant which has been extremely saddening and difficult, but it has freed it up for the NHS to use. All last week and this week we have been able to have the NHS Medical Training use our facilities. This has been approved by the council and it is just lovely to know that we can do our bit for the NHS.
But we do so look forward to having all our loyal customers back bringing the fun, dancing, and atmosphere to our venue. It just is not the same without you all.
Entertainment
Now, obviously we are not open for entertainment just yet, but I thought it would be a nice opportunity to get in touch with our acts and ask them a few questions so you can all get to know them a bit better.
Firstly, I would like to introduce to Louise & Scott. Also known as The Sonics.
I obviously know you very well along with all of us here at the Hunters but I thought it was only fair that I share you with all of our customers and let them get to know you.
So why don’t we start with you telling us a little something about yourself/group. How did you meet? How long have you been performing together? How did you start?
Believe it or not Scott and myself met on a beautiful beach in Montenegro! He was singing at a wedding and I was a guest. I thought Scott’s voice was incredible, & I was constantly being asked to get up and sing although I refused too on the basis the talent there was too good! After one too many Tequila Sunrises I did eventually get up to sing, and our friendship was born.
How did you first hear of the Hunters Meet?
I first came to The Hunters Meet years ago to sing in another group, but working with Scott seemed to be the best option for the types of audiences there, they sure like to party!
How long have you been performing at Hunters Meet?
I would guess around 10 years now!
Why do you keep coming back?
Because everyone at The Hunters Meet is lovely. The staff look after us so well and we have had so many wonderful evenings there. Christmas party nights, New Years Eves, Hen Parties, special birthdays, we love giving our audiences special memories and nights to remember.
Have you got a memorable story of performing here?
There are lots! One that jumps to mind is performing our Grease/dirty dancing nights with Fanny Galore. We love these as we get to dress up and all be silly together. The 80’s nights are great fun too and one time Scott shaved of his beard and left a very dodgy looking moustache to go with his outfit, he looked like Keith Lemon! See attached picture!
What is your favourite song/joke/moment to perform?
Our favourite song to perform has to be ‘Aint No Mountain’ that’s our special duet, and its lovely when audiences sing along. Also, many years ago Brendan suggested we learn “Fairytale of New York’ for our Christmas Parties, that always goes down a storm!
What’s your favourite type of crowd to perform for?
The ones who want to party!
Now over to our sausage Phil Lowen!!
